C Jackson started this petition to menards

Menards has decided to go above and beyond government recommendations and not allow ANYONE in their stores without a mask.

While masks are a great option to prevent the spread of disease, for many, a mask is not possible.

Who struggles wearing a mask?  Well, to name a few...

-Some with PTSD

-Some with breathing complications

-Some with autism

-Some with severe sensory and tactile defensive issues

-Some with skin complications such as Butterfly Syndrome or psoriasis

-Some with intellectual disabilities

Menards' decision to exclude the members of their communities with challenges shows their care and concern for their customers.  But it's more than that....

Menards is the first of many to come.  What's next?  Grocery stores?  Banks?  Libraries?

We must send a clear message that the community of people with disabilities will not tolerate being excluded.  We've worked too long and too hard for inclusion.

Menards, we implore you to put policy in place to allow for exceptions to your "everyone wears a mask" rule.  We implore you to make good decisions where your customers are concerned.  We implore you to be an inclusive environment.  While most should and are able to wear masks. Your decision, to exclude those that are unable, impacts families and individuals with disabilities.  We, as a community, are greatly disappointed.
