No matter where you stand in politics, we know that the Presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg would be terrible for our people and our city. 

Our mayor, Jim Strickland, has endorsed him. 

Michael Bloomberg is the former mayor of NYC and he pushed for the "stop and frisk" policy that devastatingly impacted the black community. He only apologized for that once he started running for president. 

The majority of the Memphis population is people of color, mostly being African American. It shows just how out of touch and tone deaf our Mayor is with the city he is representing. 

There is another candidate running that embodies the visions Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had for our country, but Mayor Strickland thought it was more appropriate to endorse the "stop and frisk" candidate. 

I'm asking you all to sign this petition to get him to walk back this endorsement. 

By signing this you will not be endorsing another candidate, just requesting that Mayor Strickland retract his endorsement of Michael Bloomberg. This was a seriously poor judgement on his part and is not okay as our mayor. I love our city and all its people. This disrespects the mass majority of our fellow Memphians.
