MEMO FOR: SERVICE DELIVERY AFFECTING OUR COMMUNITY WARD 66
The Issue
The Problem: We would to express our frustration regarding service delivery in our community, in issues that will be explained below and the outcome we expect as the community of Ward 66. We feel neglected by relevant departments as we have seen most services are falling apart with the neglect of the CCA in oversight of the ward and some complains falling in deaf ears within. As the official custodian of the Ward in terms of service delivery we expect a mechanism that will make our Ward be exemplary as we have seen none of that.
Points to be taken checked are as follows:
- REMOVAL OF ALL FOREIGN OWNED SCRAP YARDS - this is the biggest factor of crime within our area, we have scraps yards that promote crime by exchanging drugs/money for stolen goods. We need scrap yards eradicated because crime will never end if they continue to operate.
- ALBATROS STREET(ROAD SURFACING) - our road was damaged by a contractor and there was no consequence management as it is our entry point in our ward to Las Vegas Taxi rank.
- WATER IN OUR AREA - water in our area is opened for residents from 6am-6pm and then closed.
- TITTLE DEEDS - some houses have wrong tittle deeds which the captured beneficiary are tenants or their children, which needs visitation.
- TIOLETS – we have houses that are approximately 100 that don’t have outside toilets.
- SEWARAGE BLOCKAGE that keeps popping especially at Ext 19/9, if there are those who built on municipal infrastructure the law must be applied. Municipal by-laws must apply.
- PROOF OF ADDRESS - it can’t be that when we need proof of address we must be sent to the police station for stamp, deploy one officer to assist your workers.
- ELECTRICITY - INDIGENT is it still working?
These above mentioned affect us severely as the community due when we have visitors from outside the Ward, it portrays Ward 66 as a neglected ward. The issues are doable but due to neglect within your departments there's no oversight from within.
