Re-establishment of Animal Rights in Singapore

Re-establishment of Animal Rights in Singapore
The Issue
Hey there, have you ever been to the zoo? Have you ever happened to notice the sparkle in the animals’ eyes whenever the zookeeper comes in and feeds them. Has it ever occured to you that pets behave the same way as well? The lion cub roars, and in the same manner, the kitten purrs. Animals, as we know them, have been the crux of our living system. Without them, there is no life. Without a life cycle, we’d have nothing to sustain ourselves. And since they’re so important, we should do our best to ensure the preservation of their existence. Many animals today face abuse. The most common being pet abuse in a home setting. Some people do it to get rid of a burdensome animal they swore to take care the day they brought it home. Some do it for pleasure to satisfy their sadist cravings. If you have a moral compass or just a conscience, it’d be naturally compelling to do something to change the fate of these ill treated animals. The simplicity of the argument is astonishing, yet little people are doing anything about it. Should we receive any sizeable amount of petitions, we shall feedback this to the singaporean government to tighten the laws of animal abuse to allow animals greater rights. The full document of the proposal done up by SPCA can be found on http://www.spca.org.sg/PDF/LegislativeReformfinal.PDF or the SPCA website. We hope you will realise the gross indecency individuals may display towards animals and do something to stop it.
