Little information has been provided for the reasons for canceling Hockey Provincial Tournaments this year in Newfoundland and Labrador. Our province is lessening restrictions each week and recently have announced the removal of all mandates as of March 14th. Provincial Tournaments were not scheduled until late March / mid April, which leaves plenty of time for Hockey NL to organize these tournaments. Regardless of the efforts required, the hockey community is ready for these tournaments to go ahead this year and are willing to do whatever it takes.  Two years of cancelations is enough. Hockey NL promised they would do everything they could to have these tournaments this year and needs to reconsider and find a way to make this work for the members of its organization, the youth of Newfoundland and Labrador. This is not "the only viable option". Whatever needs to be done from a public health perspective should be done for the sake of our kids. I'm willing to do everything that is necessary.
