The Issue

Difficult days are ahead for all the homeless animals in Cyprus, as if their lives were not already difficult enough!

According to the proposed legislation that will go for voting by the members of the Cyprus parliament next Thursday, the local authorities (communities / municipalities) will be responsible for designating specific areas in their boundaries where people will be ALLOWED to feed stray animals! It will be prohibited BY LAW to leave food or water for homeless animals at any other area besides the ones decided by the local authority!

Homeless animals in Cyprus are faced with starvation, thirst, abuse and neglect! Volunteers who feed them daily and take care of the sick and injured are their only hope for survival! This legislation leaves thousands of stray animals without food and water and punishes the volunteers for caring!

Local authorities are not known for their animal-loving feelings! Strays are a problem for them and they are not willing to meet their responsibility to care for them! Volunteers struggle every day, many times putting their own health and physical integrity in danger, to help abandoned dogs and cats to survive!

WE ASK YOU TO VOTE AGAINST THIS BILL, allowing volunteers to supply food and water for the animals in need! We are their only hope to survive!

HOMELESS ANIMALS EVERYWHERE HAVE A RIGHT TO LIVE!
