URGENT CALL TO ACTION - POLIS AMENDMENT TO THE FAA REAUTHORIZATION BILL
We have just now received an update regarding the Polis Amendment to the FAA Reauthorization.
These are the highlights provided by Rep. Polis' staff, and edited for clarity:
..."FAA is now scheduled for next week ...probably Wednesday.
The first step will be for the Rules Committee to rule the amendment in order.... This decision will happen on Monday we expect. If it makes it through that we will have an opportunity to debate it on the House floor. ..."
ACTION ITEM FOR ALL QUIET SKIES SUPPORTERS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES:
1.) Please contact your U.S. House Representative today and every day throughout the next week to urge support for the "Polis Amendment to the FAA Reauthorization bill", which will restore local control over general aviation airports. Tell your representative that you support local control over general aviation airports so that local governments can adopt sensible noise regulations to protect their communities from excessive aviation noise. Without this amendment, local governments will continue to be prevented by the Federal Aviation Administration from adopting any noise regulations.
