Cherry Hills Community Church is in a crisis, brought on by the failing leadership of Shane Farmer. It is time for Shane Farmer to step down and allow a new leader to take the helm. This petition is a plea to Shane Farmer to resign effectively immediately and allow a new leadership team to restore and unify our church. 

Why does Shane Farmer need to leave CHCC? The events of the past two years reveal a pattern of a failed leader. In 2018, Shane was brought before the denomination leadership for his interactions with a highly controversial, non-orthodox church. In 2019-2020 (according to the documents made public by Shane Farmer and CHCC), the Elder Board had many ongoing concerns about Shane's decisions and teachings. The internal documents reveal an intense struggle between Shane Farmer and the eight Elder Board members. This struggle resulted in the entire Elder Board resigning en masse in August. In September 2020, formal charges were brought against Shane Farmer to the denomination leadership. The charges are relate to heresy, contempt and immorality. These formal charges will be investigated by the denomination in the months to come. In addition, church membership and donations have been declining for years.

It is clear that the CHCC is embroiled in an intense and unnecessary struggle, brought on by Shane Farmer. The truth is that if Shane Farmer resigned today, CHCC could move forward with a new leader and this crisis would be over. Sign the petition today to send Shane Farmer a message.
