The issue

2.7 Million Dollars Wasted.

In the FY 20-21 Budget, the Melton Council Purchased the parcel of land connecting Shogaki Drive to Mt Cottrell Rd.

In the FY 21-22 Budget, the Melton Council allocated the funds to construction the road connecting Shogaki Drive to Mt Cottrell Rd.

So far at least 2.7 million ratepayers dollars have been spent on this project and nothing has begun.

When contacting the Melton Council, and speaking with  
Rojina Tamrakar a Traffic and Transport Engineer at the Melton City Council. there is no timeline for this project to go ahead.

With the City of Melton forecast to be bigger then Canberra by 2035 more vital infrastructure is required. With the nearby Melton Hospital due to begin construction in 2024 and open by 2029 now is the time for this vital project to be started.

I ask everyone to sign this petition to raise awareness for this vital piece of roadwork connecting Thornhill Park to Cobblebank without the use of the Western Highway.

“Hello all, I plan to table your petition tonight at our July meeting of Council. You are welcome to attend in-person and sit in the chamber to view the meeting. Fortunately for you, the petition section of the meeting is usually in the first 30 minutes of the meeting so you are able to leave immediately after if you do not want to stay and hear other matters. The meeting will take place at 7pm tonight at the Melton Civic Centre on High Street, Melton. Enter via the main front doors.
