Boral has applied to Melton City Council for a massive expansion of the Western Landfill at Deer Park.

It wants to extend its existing tip by 179 million cubic metres of tipping space – equivalent to 105 MCGs of garbage, asbestos and contaminated soil piled 15 storeys above ground level.

If Boral’s application is approved it will be a disaster for our community.

Residents want homes, jobs and economic opportunity, not one of the largest tips in Australia in their backyard.

Melton Council must put the community first and reject this proposal.

Melton Council is expected to make a decision about the Boral Deer Park tip very soon.

We need to make sure Council understands that the community DOES NOT want Boral’s application approved.
