At a public meeting on May 20th 2019, Queens Community Board 7 member Kim Ohanian was captured on video saying that people in New York City "deserve to get run over" by motorists. The comment was made during a presentation by DOT about proposed street safety improvements, which Ohanian opposes.

New York City's streets are in a state of emergency. Since the start of 2019, more than 50 pedestrians and 15 cyclists have been killed by motorists. Thousands more have been injured. Our communities deserve to be represented by people who speak for the safety of all New Yorkers, not only the minority who chose to drive.

We are demanding that Queens Borough President Melinda Katz:

• Immediately remove Kim Ohanian from CB7.
• Commit to reforming the broken process for life-saving street safety improvements, which is frequently stalled by out-of-touch community board members like Ohanian.
