British and Australian citizen Micah Maxwell-Milne, was killed in a road accident in Baku, Azerbaijan in June 2015, whilst working on the European Games. He was 23 years old. His death occurred not long after 3 Austrian athletes were mown down by a bus in the Olympic Village. In Azerbaijan its is alleged that you can buy a genuine driving license for $350 on the street. Azerbaijan has the highest proportion of road fatalities per vehicle ratio of any European Country. Late night drag racing and reckless driving at high speed is common place in the driving culture and enforcement of traffic rules is inconsistent. 400 times as many people die from road accidents than terrorist activity in developed countries but this statistic is largely ignored. After Micah's death, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office changed their advice on the dangers of road traffic in Azerbaijan with the support of a senior Scotland Yard officer who was their as a security advisor for the European Games. Formula 1 are holding the European Grand Prix there in June 2016. It has since been announced that Baku has the fastest street track ever. We want to know what Bernie Eccleston is doing to ensure the safety of the thousands of fans travelling to Baku for this event and the people of Azerbaijan. His quote in the press states that Bernie seems to think there is no problem.  The first Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has been written to appealing for her to make a change to their road safety, we are awaiting her reply. We want her to talk with the UK Road Safety experts and get advice on making the same changes that have been made in the UK since the 1980's, these have resulted in road deaths being cut by 40%. This is a beautiful country to visit and it's people courteous and hospitable, but people are dying needlessly on the roads of Azerbaijan on almost daily basis. Micah was working with his father and a team of 93 crew on the opening and closing ceremonies for the European Games. He was just embarking on his adult life and was a very funny, clever and special guy. He loved his family and friends and cared a great deal about everyone he met. He also loved Baku and the people of Azerbaijan. He would want to help other people and prevent them from going through what we have. The pain of losing Micah to everyone who knew him is not possible to describe. Micah leaves behind his parents, sister and girlfriend. He was at the time of his death, the happiest man in the world, in love, going forward in his career and loved by many. Don't let his death have no meaning, please help us make a change for Micah
