With the rise of mobile phones and hand-held devices, social media has become part of everyone’s life and the use of social media has seen the growth of online bullying.The online apps has had an increase of users this being as now a joint social platform with MEET ME, SKOUT and PLENTY OF FISH users meaning a huge stage to allow people to talk and stream with no identification of who they actually are.On a personal level I have seen an increase in bullying, harassment or victimisation online. Online streaming apps gives bully’s a safe environment to say what they want and target whom they please with little to no punishment given.I am disgusted to say that due to nothing being done on your app even tho reported several times on many occasions it has resorted into a young women taking her live on the 27th of December as a resort of a continuation of online trolling.

The meet me conduct , which we all agree too before joining the app, states No hate speech or other forms of bullying is allowed to take place. After re-reading the meet me rules and conduct it also states that “We have a zero tolerance policy against bullying and will face immediate and permanent suspension of their account.” However failing to do so you have allowed trolls to continue with no punishment resorting into me nearly taking my own life as it’s caused my mental health into a downwards spiral. Talking to others on the app this ranging from the new to the VIP’s and top badges we agree that we are all coming together so our voice will be heard. This meaning the app has gone against The Protection from Harassment Act 1997 witch stated you have to protect and deal with a wide variety of distressing behaviour

I know that there will never be an end to online bullying however there can be strategy’s put into place to lower the risk.
