Animal testing, also known as animal experimentation, animal research and in vivo testing, includes the use of non-human animals in experiments that aim to regulate the variables influencing the behavior or biological system under investigation.

Experimenting with animals is unacceptable. First of all the rights of animals are abused when they are used in testing. The harmful use of animals in experiments is not only cruel but also unsuccessful. Animals do not get all of the human diseases that humans do such as major types of heart disease, many types of cancer, HIV, etc. While there are some advantages of using animals for study, there are also other ways in which they could achieve the same results as animal testing. While they have justification to do so, the welfare, well-being and quality of life of animals is not widely regarded.

Humans cannot justify making life easier by arbitrarily torturing and killing thousands of animals each year for laboratory experiments or testing items. Animals should be treated with respect and dignity, and this right to fair care is not maintained when animals are abused for selfish human benefit. After all, humans are also animals which deserves to live as well.
