Thank you so very much to everyone who has signed and supported the petition to try to have Dr Peter Brown's medical practice re-opened in Crown St, Surry Hills. So many people in the local community are feeling the great on-flow effects of not having Dr Brown available to consult on  their ongoing medical care. So many have voiced their concerns about his practice's closure to various government representatives. Thank you all for your great efforts.

Just a quick update on the current status of all. I have spoken to the Medical Council of Australia, and been in email contact, and just one single complaint from one individual about Dr Brown (relating to his non- computerised record keeping, I believe) has been made to the Medical Council that has triggered the recent action. An initial hearing was held last month, which Dr Brown attended. A second and final hearing to decide the final outcomes are now to be held on Tuesday, 4th August. 

The medical Council have told me that all correspondence made to them will be presented at the hearing, along with reference to this Change.Org petition. Although not the final deciding element by any means, it will certainly go a long way to illustrating how valued Dr Brown is within the community as a whole. 

This hearing will be critical to the continuation of Dr Brown's practice, so I urge you to please contact the Medical Council of NSW directly to vocalise your concerns and your support. We have only eleven days left to make our voices heard. Please do feel free to email or phone any, or all of the above decision makers / supporters, to have the community voice heard very strongly.  We all want Dr Peter Brown to continue looking after the medical needs of the local Surry Hills community.
