Hold open book examinations in offline mode for medical students during covid pandemic
The Issue
Amidst the corona virus pandemic, every person is facing major issues at all levels. Medical, dental and paramedical students are no less. While all other course students are getting the privilege of having cancelled exams or online exams, here we have vast syllabus creating a lot of pressure on us along with pandemic effects. While we understand it may not be justified to promote medical students without exams or through online mode, conducting open book examinations in offline mode is a win win situation for both the parties - the students and the rules of medical council. Students living far from college have to take a lot of risk to come to college amidst the current situation and preparing for exams in such stressful situations is very tough. We will have a lot of filters in our coming years, our mental physical and social health is a prime for us right now. It will be a big relief to every student to have reduced the mental pressure. It is unfair to not learn anything practical in offline mode and give exams. From a student perspective, we are still students and are suffering similar problems like others. Having open book examinations in offline mode is a request we all want to make to the medical council of india, dcptot and respected Manish Sisodiya.
