Swim area water raising concerns

A sample taken from sediment from Catawba tested positive for amoeba Naegleria Fowleri, the microorganism linked to the recent death of a teenage girl. Lake Norman's water is Catawba's water. The crowded swim area is a favor environment for microorganism growth and should be tested regularly. Water samples need to be taken at peak beach time.
