I am Joe Dittrick , your local councilman, reaching out due to a rising concern within our community. The financial burden that Manchester Municipal Airport is bringing is starting to weigh heavily on the locals. We want our public resources to reflect the community's needs and desires. However, we increasingly find that the airport is not serving as a vital infrastructure for the majority of the residents, yet our taxes continue to support it.

According to a recent survey, only a small fraction of Manchester's population frequently uses the airport. Meanwhile, the airport's finances have spiraled into recurring deficits, indicating a drain on our city's budget and, ultimately, taxpayers' pockets. Therefore, it's crucial we reassess the value and necessity of such an investment.

We need to understand that our taxes should contribute to improvements that benefit us all – local public services, education, community development, rather than a scarcely used airport. It's time to initiate a dialogue that reevaluates our financial commitments to community projects.

The goal of this petition is not to shut down the airport but to openly voice our concerns and request a comprehensive review of the financial implications of maintaining the Manchester Municipal Airport.
