MDC is a detention center in Brooklyn.  I am in contact with a woman there who has told me that trade classes are only available to men.  I think that this is unfair and misogynistic, and needs to change.  The women there are vulnerable and deserve to learn the same skills that the men are learning.  Please sign this petition to let MDC know that their practices are outdated and sexist.  Women deserve the same opportunities as men, even if they are locked up (ESPECIALLY if they are locked up!).  The women there have no power to change this and need our help to advocate for them.  Please speak up and ask MDC why women are not given the same opportunities as men.  You can call them during the week at (718) 840.4200.  Let's stand up for these women and let our voices be heard.
