Please email the County Council today: Restore funding for MCPS classroom technology!
The Issue
The County Executive has rejected the $5 million request from the BOE and proposed zero funding for classroom technology. This is a tiny portion of the $2.4 billion MCPS budget.
On May 2, the Montgomery County Council will consider reinstating these funds. It is vital that the Council hears from as many teachers and parents as possible about how important this program is in educating our students!
In a survey of 1,070 MCPS teachers, over 90% say the Chromebook technology is empowering and very important in their teaching. More than half say the technology is “transformative.” 74% agreed “we have only begun to tap the vast potential benefits.” 98% support continued funding. All data can be viewed at: www.mcpsedtech.org
Your voice matters! Please send an email today urging the Montgomery County Council to restore funding for the MCPS Classroom Technology program. Draft is below, but please add your message.
