MCHS Anti-ICE walk out

MCHS Anti-ICE walk out
The Issue
multiple high schools, including Manchester High School, are planning a walkout on February 6, 2026, from 2:15 - 2:55 PM. This walkout is a peaceful protest against the presence and actions of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in our area.
This petition was created to support and encourage participation in solidarity from students and to convince our school's administration to allow this walkout to take place.
Through this walkout, we aim to bring attention to our government's immigration policies and advocate for the protection of our friends and families who might be impacted.
The walkout is intended to be non-disruptive and respectful, a demonstration of our collective voice. Students involved plan to handle themselves with maturity and respect, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
As students at Manchester HS, we are not only a diverse student body but home of the Spanish immersion program, which has inevitably led us to having a large Hispanic community. While the largest community affected by ICE’s unconstitutional acts is latinos, so are asian and black immigrant communities, another large part of the population at Manchester High school. No matter race or how we are affected by ICE we should stand by the people in our community who are.
We ask students, parents, and community members to sign this petition in support of peaceful student advocacy and to help demonstrate community backing. Signing this petition does not require attendance at the walkout.
