Adding Black/POC History to All U.S. Textbooks

Adding Black/POC History to All U.S. Textbooks
The Issue
Textbook manufacturers, such as McGraw-Hill, provide different versions of the same textbook across the United States, allowing politics to dictate the version of history being presented to students. In some states, issues of racial discrimination and the fight for civil rights have often been skewed or completely left out of the curriculum, like the Tulsa Race Massacre or racial massacres all over the United States, Harriet Tubman's story in the fight for freedom or just slavery in general, and the ongoing oppression of Native American culture and lands. It should be required, in every state, that black history, and American history of all races, be included and presented in accurate historical context to educate our young peoples, highlighting not only past discrimination and past contributions, but also the way that past actions have contributed to today's ongoing struggles in the fight for racial equality.
Please call on our textbook manufactures to require that only 1 accurate textbook version is available for release, a version which has received input from a racially diverse group of historical experts. #FixTheTexbooks
