Students in Campus1 Residence are being evicted with less than 24 hours notice by McGill Housing Services. The evictions are arbitrary and vaguely worded; emails were sent out on a Sunday afternoon while McGill Housing offices are closed. These students are unable to find proper lodging within the specified time period and a loophole in their lease agreement allows McGill to evict students without a hearing due to COVID rule changes. McGill uses words such as "excluded" instead of "evicted" in order to bypass Quebec law which guarantees a minimum one-month notice of eviction. Help us prevent homeless students and serve justice to McGill administration.
