Corporate McDonald's plans to demolish and remodel the Sugarcreek McDonald's from the Swiss Chalet style it is to a basic modern style. This will completely change the look from unique to big business cookie cutter.

Sugarcreek, Ohio is "The Little Switzerland of Ohio" and the Swiss Chalet architecture matches the visual theme of the village. The style also honors the deep rooted Swiss Heritage of the residents of Sugarcreek.

The restaurant has 3 murals painted by local artist Tom Miller. McDonald's plans to throw these into the landfill upon demolishing the building. We are working to save those murals even if the building cannot be saved.

The building has become a visual icon for both tourists and locals. Most of us that grew up in the Sugarcreek area remember watching the train in the drive thru while we waited for our Happy Meal. Tourists love the look and comment on it's unique and charming facade.

The employees and franchise owner do not want the remodel to happen but they have not been able to convince McDonald's to change their minds. McDonald's Corporate is under the impression that we do not care, we need to show them we do! Please sign this petition to show McDonald's that even the tiniest towns have a voice!
