McDonalds UK: Don't Open Store in Parkgate, Rotherham

The Issue

During the summer of 2014 Israel attacked Palestinians living in Gaza killing over 2100 Palestinians, mainly civilians, which included over 500 children. Over the 51 day offensive, tens of thousands of homes were destroyed, leaving families homeless, hungry and in need of medical aid. Israel attacked hospitals, Mosques, Churches and schools, which is illegal under international law, though Israel has yet to be held accountable for these war crimes.

The Rotherham community was outraged by what was happening and took to the town centre on the 19th of July to express their outrage. Over 1000 members attended the peaceful demonstration, calling for Israel to stop its genocide.

McDonalds supports and funds the Jewish United Fund, which sounds very charitable. However, the JUF supports the Israeli Defence Forces, the same forces that carry out massacres on Palestinians living in Gaza, imprison children, abuse Palestinian women, and continue to occupy Palestinian land.

Today, we are asking for McDonalds UK not to open their store at Parkgate Shopping and Retail Park. The Rotherham community do not want to support the murder of any human beings, and therefore we are asking for the opening of McDonalds to not go ahead.

Please sign and share this petition and stand up for human rights, peace, and justice.

It will be send to McDonald’s UK Head Office, Rotherham Council and Parkgate Shopping and Retail Park.

Thank you for your support.
