This week Impossible Foods announced a new partnership with OSI Group, a major meat processor and player in the fast-food industry, to help them ramp up their supply to meet customer demands.

Thanks to this partnership, Impossible is now able to produce more plant-based burgers than ever. This ensures both a healthy supply of Impossible Whoppers for Burger King’s national roll out on August 8 and additional capacity or future partnerships.

Imagine packing plants and grains into patties rather than cow carcasses. It’s a telling sign of what’s happening within the meat industry.

Headquartered just outside of Chicago, OSI Group is a major supplier for McDonald’s. While McDonald’s has stayed mum on introducing a plant-based burger, hopefully, the Impossible and OSI partnership is a sign of early groundwork for a partnership.
