I was inspired to create this petition when I heard, back in 2013, about how chickens are treated in farms such as Creekside Grove Farms and Kuku Farms in Alberta (who were some examples of McDonald's suppliers). Chickens are kept in battery-operated cages, hung upside down by metal shackles, and thrown around aggressively and violently. They are killed very inhumanely, often being submerged in very hot water, or having their throats slit while conscious. 

PETA also has an ongoing campaign against McDonald's for their cruelty. Since this campaign, McDonald's has made some improvements, and have even committed to switching to cage-free eggs over the next decade, however, their chickens still suffer a lot of abuse, especially during slaughter. 

I don't think that these chickens deserve to live the way they do in farms such as these. This petition is aimed at McDonald's, to try and get them to make further improvements to the way they treat their animals (such as slaughtering them using much more humane methods, one of them being CAK).

CAK is the method of killing PETA has proposed to McDonald's. This way, the chickens will go through a lot less suffering and pain and will die much more peacefully.
