Canadian Bacon is a phrase used in the US that describes a piece of ham. Canadians do not use this phrase, as bacon is bacon in both countries. Although I’m sure Canadians love that we have been tricked into saying their country name every time we order a delicious Egg McMuffin, it should really just say Ham. 

Bottom line is it bugs Canadians who don’t understand why this phrase exists and misleads unsuspecting Americans who might actually want bacon, instead of ham!

Either way the Egg McMuffin is a masterpiece and is in no way to blame for its unmistakeable deliciousness.
