Make McDonald's Canada safe again for Allergy Families

Make McDonald's Canada safe again for Allergy Families
The Issue
As of January 17th, 2017, McDonald's Canada is claiming that all it's food is possibly cross contaminated with nuts due to the introduction of one new McFlurry flavour, Skor. Since the Skor pieces contain almond and the pieces will not be self-contained, they seriously risk cross contaminating all foods in the preparation area. As a result of this change, McDonald's Canada has issued it's new warning of possible cross contamination with all it's food. No menu items can safely be consumed by nut allergic individuals.
Individuals with severe nut allergies (mostly anaphylactic) and their families considered McDonald's as the only safe fast food (and otherwise) restaurant in Canada due to their commitment to allergy safety including individual packaging of peanuts and tree nuts.
Such a drastic change of policy completely eliminates the security and convenience that McDonald's represented to over 500,000 individuals and their families in Canada.
In an age when more and more nut allergies are afflicting children and adults, we are asking McDonald's Canada to keep leading the way in protecting allergic individuals instead of taking dradsteps backwards.
