MBTA - let your people go

The people of the MBTA--the MBTA loyalists, the mass transit fanatics, those who chose not to drive, parents with small children, mobility impaired people, tourists, sports fans, and more, are not being served by the current plan of only allowing access through the front doors on the Green Line except maybe, sometimes during rush hour or maybe sometimes at certain heavily used stops. Current plan is dangerous (congestion, pushing and missteps are not uncommon), delays the Green Line (all those folks muscling their way to the front delay people getting on) and increases the hassle factor of using mass transit on this line. There are other ways to reduce fare evasion (the stated purpose of the change).

Letter to
Acting General Manager, MBTA Jonathan Davis
I just signed the following petition addressed to Jonathan Davis, Acting General Manager, MBTA

----------------
Allow Green line riders to use ALL doors on ALL trolleys ALL the time

Consider a proof of payment policy and implement those new fines in the legislation recent signed by Gov. Patrick or put an attendant at selected above ground stations to verify passes or tickets.

Just don't penalize your people---the people of the MBTA--with a policy that maybe gives you reduced fare evasion but increases dissatisfaction, delays your service and potentially leaves the MBTA open to liability claims as customers climb in and over and around others to get in and out of the Green Line Trains.

Sincerely,
