I had to contact Mr. James Erb (the city's attorney) again to get a response out of the COB on the proposed updated policy. The last updates they released were what I reported on last time that caused so much concern for both Michael Lilliquist, myself, and most others. We were given no other reports of progress beyond that. The new policy is supposed to reflect "some" of the concerns voiced to the council and public works over the last few weeks. It will NOT be up on the COB site until July 18th, giving us only 5 days to review it before it is voted on on the July 23rd. I have asked for an extension to July 30th so we can really go over it. I expect this request to be ignored. So, let's say that tentatively we need to plan on being at City Hall at 6:45 pm on July 23rd, which will probably be one of the most beautiful days of the year :). Public Works still will not communicate directly on this issue for some unknown reason forcing us to go through policy advisors and lawyers. Everyone I know working on just about every other issue with the COB reports the same issues.
