The City Council of Council Bluffs Iowa has proposed and voted to build 5 medians down the center of West Broadway starting at 36th street through 16th street.  Left turn access will be unavailable to many businesses on this road. We feel this will devalue commercial property with restricting access and be detrimental to businesses. In addition, each turn lane will only allow 3-4 car lengths certainly causing backups on the main roadways.

The proposal will also turn the Avenue A residential street into a two-way street thus increasing traffic and possibly eliminating some or all street parking for residents living on this roadway.  These changes may result in reduced property values of both the businesses on West Broadway as well as the residential property on Avenue A.

We the people request that the city council work more closely with the businesses on the west end of Council Bluffs to develop a plan that better suits traffic flow for all businesses.
