Start advertising your impounded pets

The issue

The Lockyer Valley Council pound is a "closed" pound, they do not advertise their impounded pets and you can only view impounded pets by making an appointment with council.

The pound does have a lost and found register, but matches can take days to be made, which in turn earns owners a large impound fee. If matches are not made the council will either rehome your pet or have them destroyed. Pets are often found later being advertised for adoption at the RSPCA after council has failed to make matches and donated the animal to them.

This is totally unacceptable and council needs its pound to become more user friendly. At the moment the residents of the Lockyer Valley are relying on council workers to search a database for their missing pets and this system is failing time and time again. And the victims of this are our pets and our families who love them.

We ask the LVRC to start advertising their impounded pets again, so families can be reunited with their loved ones
