Neighbors and Friends, we need your help!

The Roosevelt Avenue improvement bond of $4,000,000.00 is now available for use or it will be turned back to the City of San Antonio to use as they see fit.  This improvement bond was to include upgrading DRAINAGE, adding much needed SIDEWALKS, and a PEDESTRIAN/BIKE BRIDGE across the San Antonio river.  This bond was supposed to be for the southern part of Roosevelt from the San Antonio River to Military drive. This section is a major traffic corridor into downtown San Antonio. It was built as a highway and needs to be improved to become the pedestrian friendly boulevard for our neighborhood!

Our residents deserve to have sidewalks that will allow our neighbors to walk with their children in strollers, our elderly that use walkers and wheelchairs to get to their destinations without having to fight rush hour traffic or walk in mud/gravel pathways. Our citizens need separate bike lanes to help avoid undue stress on cyclist and motorists.   

The city wants to start work improvements on the NORTHSIDE of Roosevelt and St. Mary’s, when they should address the need for improvements to the southside of Roosevelt immediately for our safety and for our children!   

WE need to let the city know now is the time to spend the money in your neighborhood, on YOUR streets! We deserve to have better streets for us to get to work safer and faster.  Please help to protect your familia.  This neighborhood is 300 years old, with a rich heritage of working to make things better for our familias and neighbors.
