Petition the City of Auburn to revoke Skybar's business and liquor license

The Issue

Recently an article on the dangers of date rape drug was published online, this article as of Sunday, September 22, 2019, has reached over 110,000 people and has been shared 1000 times. In the nearly 500 comments over 90% of the comments state a problem with Skybar and patron being drugged. Several have said they have witnessed an owner slipping a substance in a drink, one states one of the owners "having to almost pry a girls head off the bar and offer her a shot" that commenter also stated "have personally had to take a friend home after taking a drink from him (an owner) when she had just got to the bar"

Many stores revolve around allowing minors to drink, the owners allowing some patrons to stay in the bar well past the 2:30 am or 2 am Saturday cut-off for serving alcohol and still serving them alcohol.

Many private messages were sent to the writer of the article including this one: "I was drugged at sky back in 2012. I had 1 drink made by the bartenders and blacked out. I apparently walked between there and bourbon multiple times, puked everywhere in the bathroom and remember nothing. This is all bc of my friends who took care of me. I woke up the next morning in my bed with the worst headache of my life and sick. Only made it home bc of my friends. I remember nothing after that one and only drink."

Another of the many horror stories include this one: "About 3 years ago I went to sky bar with some friends and a black got brought me a shot and I saw it was fizzing and I gave it to a guy friend of mine and he said he doesn't remember anything after that shot."

We demand due to the volume of complaints that most share a common theme, the City of Auburn and ALEA's ABC Enforcement revoke Skybar's business and liquor licenses and close this establishment for the public's safety. We understand Auburn Police has maintained a file on Skybar and ask that the city council review this file, numerous assaults occur here and a large number of arrests occur in the immediate area of Skybar as has been provided by APD's media activity log.

No other bar in Auburn has had the volume of issues of Skybar, not one of the nearly 500 comments mention any other bar and we believe Skybar is a hazard to public health and public safety.
