Inspired by the Black Lives Matter mural in Washington, DC and Sacramento, Local Unity Church and New Thought Spiritual Center, First Unity Spiritual Campus, wants to bring this idea to life in St. Petersburg, FL.We’d like to paint a large Black Lives Matter mural on Central Avenue.

“United we Stand, Divided we are merely a Distraction” says Rev. Dr. Temple Hayes, Spiritual Leader of First Unity Spiritual Campus. Calling for change and healing the divide from Central Ave in St. Petersburg because it is the demarcation between St. Petersburg N and St. Petersburg S with the Southside being historically African American and the Northeast being historically Caucasian. 

In this way Central Avenue will become a Unifying place rather than a dividing line. Lets make this happen! First Unity Spiritual Campus, a Unity Church and New Thought Center for Spiritual Living in the Tampa Bay region of Florida has taken to the streets every Sunday in June at 2:22pm for a Sacred Activist Demonstration of Peace and Prayer. Joining with the tens of thousands to speak out against fear, injustice and inhumanity, taking to the streets to speak FOR Peace, Equality and Life Rights for all. As Sacred Activist, we stand and affirm: “We will be the change we want to see. Together as a CommUnity we will heal the divide,” says Rev. Kimberley Harrell, Public Relations Dir at First Unity.
