Redland City Fire Management, Planning and Mitigation - support Rural Fire Brigade

Mount Cotton, Redland Bay, Sheldon, Alexandra Hills and other areas of Redland City are at extreme danger of loss of homes and lives from bush fire. Redland City Council has prioritised ecological concerns over public safety. Fire fuel loads in bushland across the Redlands are at double and triple those recommended by the Queensland Fire Service. This petition asks that Redland City Council take all immediate steps to reduce extreme fuel loads in bushland, find better balance between nature conservation and human safety through responsible fire mitigation policy and regulation, and support the formation of a Rural Fire Service for Mainland Redland City.
