Hello, my name is Francesca.  I am currently an eleventh grader at Middletown High School South.  I am campaigning to raise a PRIDE Flag in June at Town Hall here in Middletown for PRIDE Month. 

Last year, though a flag was not raised, a proclamation I helped pen claiming Middletown as inclusive and recognizing PRIDE Month, was signed, read, and presented by the Township Committee of Middletown.  In an effort to demonstrate the Township's commitment to Middletown described in the proclamation, we want all members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as the community as a whole, to be welcomed with a flag at Town Hall for the month of June.  Many surrounding neighboring towns have already done so.  Our town is more than ready for this celebratory and positive recognition.  Let’s send a positive message that we know Middletown represents.

Show your pride in your community by showing your pride for your community members that you are an ally!  This has nothing to do with politics, but has everything to do with awareness and compassion.  

Please consider signing(Students/Parents/Community Members) this petition demonstrating the inclusivity of our community and letting all LGBTQ+ community members know that they are not just welcome, but celebrated here in Middletown with a ceremonial PRIDE Flag-raising for the month of June, 2022.
