We are asking the City of Midland to issue a directive to stop the killing of healthy and adoptable animals and seek alternative methods proven to work in other communities.

Midland Animal Shelter is killing, by euthanasia, the current average rate of 180 dogs and cats per month (~ 9 per day).  As of August 19, 2020, 1360 dogs and cats have been euthanized. When an animal enters the Midland shelter, it is a death sentence - whether it is an owner surrender or a stray. We must do better. Do we want Midland to be as famous for killing animals as we are famous for what is underground?  All because a human failed them - in more ways than one.  We need a change in mindset and positive paradigm shift in Midland in order to progress into one of the top 100 cities to live, work and play, for humans and animals, alike.
