Zena Nicole started this petition to Mayor of London and

Park Lane has always been a fluid, easy-moving thoroughfare, with little congestion.

Since the introduction of a cycle lane and an extended island for pedestrians to access the bus lane that has been moved further into the road, there has been consistent and slow-moving traffic at all times of the day and into the night.

This is causing not only congestion, but also more pollution from idling engines in the traffic.

Cyclists and pedestrians preferring to use the cycle lane/walkway that RUNS PARALLEL TO, AND THE LENGTH OF, PARK LANE, JUST INSIDE HYDE PARK A FEW YARDS AWAY (please see attached map), rather than inhaling the pollution emanating from the ensuing traffic, means this cycle lane is not even used.

By contrast, the South Carriage is still enjoying fluid, faster-flowing transit, and highlights the congestion that this ill-conceived and badly designed change has caused on the other side.

What a terrible waste of taxpayer money at a time when we are in deep economic recession owing to Covid-19.

Will this expense and the congestion manufactured, be used to justify extending the congestion charge at a later date?

Surely there are other areas of London (such as making Regent's Park one way for traffic and setting aside the other lane for cyclists) to channel funds etc. into, for important and EFFECTIVE initiatives to help the environment, which would actually make a difference in the right way!

Please sign if you agree to revert back, with a view to considering other more imaginative solutions for resolving any issues cyclists or pedestrians might face.
