Get Chick Knight a plaque on Hammersmith Bridge

Get Chick Knight a plaque on Hammersmith Bridge
The Issue
On the 15th June 1930, my great uncle, Hammersmith born Wrestler Chick'Cocky'Knight, aka Arthur Richard George Knight, saved 2 people from drowning in the Thames by jumping in off Hammersmith Bridge to save them one at a time. I'm campaigning to get Chick a plaque on Hammersmith Bridge in recognition of his heroic feat, which after 90 years is long overdue. Chick was a triple lifesaver during his lifetime, having saved a fellow soldiers life in Gibraltar in 1924, also from drowning. He is one of the only sportsmen I know to have this to their name. Chick was one of the first British Wrestler's on BBCTV in 1938, and was also a boxer, soldier, lifeguard, film star and bouncer/doorman. Born in Hammersmith in 1903, he fought all over the world from 1932-58, and famously fought boxer Billy Wells at Earls Court, London in 1938.
