Okay, hitting 200 is AMAZING! But I know it and you know it - we need a lot more. I threw money on this at the start because it's important to me and I have the means right now. If you do too I would encourage this but it is not a requirement. Put your money where YOU think it will make the biggest difference. Vote with that dollar.
Calling all NURSES! DOCTORS! HEALTHCARE WORKERS! SCIENTISTS! EDUCATORS! ETC! That are NOT on board with the mask mandate. This is the time to reach out to anyone you know to ask them their expertise on this topic! There is more than one side to this conversation, let's get it out there! I know it’s daunting but as long as we stay focused on the goal at hand, WE decide how big this gets.
Let's remember, this isn’t about making waves, this is about advocating for those who are being dismissed at a heavy price. If those who are considered professionals can assist us right now with having our voices taken seriously that is HUGE. And it’s what we need. Share this with them, ask if they are willing to sign it, share it, and write letters about it to our Mayor and Health Department. These are the people that need to see this if we truly want to make this change. Start writing letters yourself too. We need this to be LOUD and CLEAR.
Where there are risks there must be choices! Nobody should have authority over our bodies! Health is not about a one size fits all solution - everyone is different and what one person can tolerate another may not. I’ve heard from a few of you and have spoken to my neighbourhood but I need your help! Some are afraid to vocalize their stance on this, some disagree but are complying without complaints, some are losing their jobs over this, some are going without their essential necessities because they aren’t being let in. Mental health is skyrocketing in the wrong direction.
My point is, we need this conversation to stay positive and gain traction any way it can! Because we need this to be heard. Be as creative as you can! My facebook DM is open for conversation and brainstorming. We aren’t about shaming others for their choices, this is why we are speaking up right now. We are being shamed for our realities and for this we cannot repeat that cycle.
