Filter Downham Road to reduce traffic, pollution and make the road safe

Downham Road is a really dangerous, busy road. We have to breathe in polluted air from too many speeding cars and vehicles. Putting in a modal filter like the rest of DeBeauvoir has had since the 1970s and which now most residential roads in Hackney have would make it healthier, safer and better for local businesses. It shouldn't be used as a 'traffic sewer' when the rest of Hackney's residents are cared about and protected in efforts to reduce traffic.
Other similar roads have been filtered, like Middleton Road, Richmond Road and recently Church Street by Hackney Council. Lets ask for our road to be made safe too.
Residents of Downham Road and the DeBeauvoir Estate, Parents at Hackney New Primary School and staff and students at Waterside Academy along with parents at Beavers' nursery have been asking for this measure from Hackney Council. Now that more homes are being built in the council's plans it is time that they included our road as well in the road improvement plans across the borough instead of continuing to ignore this road and turn a blind eye to the speeding and dangers we and our children and young people face every day.
