Fireworks in the City of Granite Falls, with the population increasing significantly the past few years, is becoming dangerous.  Not just to our homes and land, but also our animals.  There are many citizens that have horses, cows, dogs, cats, and also land they use for cutting hay to provide food for their livestock.  Animals are becoming injured due to the increased legal and illegal fireworks that are being set off by or near animals/livestock.  Fireworks landing in our dry fields, on our homes and barns are a fire hazard.  This also greatly affects our citizens that suffer from PTSD.  Homes in this community are just too close together for it to be safe to set off fireworks in the city limits.

The fireworks are also let off on several days surrounding each holiday.  This does not allow homeowners time to secure their animals and themselves from the fear and anxiety it causes them.

This petition is to eliminate fireworks within the city limits of Granite Falls.  Please help protect our citizens, homes, land, our pets, and livestock.
