Relinquish the Land

Relinquish the Land
The Issue
Dear Fellow Chicagoans,
We need your support, the youth of Chicago need your support, our communities need your support!
Majostee Allstars, a 501c3 non-profit organization, is endeavoring to build a 80,000 square-foot revolutionary youth center on the south side of Chicago on the land of one of many shuttered CPS schools. This edifice, which once housed a successful CPS cluster program, has been closed since 2013, the same year in which 15 year-old Hadiya Pendleton was murdered while standing in a park with friends.
In 2021, not much has changed! Our children are being murdered by the dozens and the school building remains abandoned until this day. Eight years later and it is still a grave eye-soar in the community. Thirty thousand students, teachers, and staff were affected by the closings; they have not benefited and will never benefit our children as stated by the late CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennet.
What will be beneficial to our children is a center that they can call home, where they feel welcome, appreciated, and loved. A flexible space that will have a Coding Center, Wellness Center, Aviation, Trade Space, and a Vertical Farm.
We are demanding that the city relinquish the land and give our children an opportunity to be all that they can be! Give up, turn over, sign away, let go, and waive your rights to control the future of disenfranchised neighborhoods, children, and people. This land is our land, these children that society hates so much, are our children and they deserve investment and special treatment. We do not want a hand out from the city, only a hand up. The people will speak and the funds will be generated by using the power of our collective voices.
Stand with us Chicago as we bring consistent unity, love, and hope to every forgotten neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. The world is watching!
