I am campaigning for free transport for children aged 5-18 years old on the Stagecoach bus services that operate in the Cambridgeshire County area. 

At present there are no bus fares for children on a weekly or monthly bus pass. In other areas like Northampton they have a weekly and monthly young persons bus pass available at a much cheaper rate, enabling children to use the buses at half the price.  

This does not happen on Stagecoach bus services in Cambridgeshire. Not being able to afford a adult weekly or monthly bus pass limits the opportunities that a young person can engage with including attending school or college.

Children and young people in full time education should be able to access public transport for free, TRANSPORT POVERTY is real, and only being able to stay in local areas limits the child's/young persons aspirations. This needs to stop!

Why only in Cambridgeshire does a child have to pay for a bus pass that adults also use? In a place with a world famous University children are not able to by a child weekly bus pass does this seem like equality? or more like age discrimination. 

• Children and young people should either be able to use the buses for free who are in full time education up until they are 18
• Or have an affordable child fare available to them for weekly and monthly bus passes
