I live 7 blocks away from any train crossing and can barely hear the trains during the day; however the train conductors completely abuse their horns during the night time. They blast their horns 7-12 times at each crossing and have managed to wake up my children and myself on countless occasions. 

There is a safety concern to ceasing the train blasts; however other communities have implemented a horn blast cessation successfully and so can Maple Ridge.

 This  abuse and lack of consideration that the conductors show from 12 am to 8am must stop, they lay on the horns without any judgement and consideration. I feel for those residents  who live close to the crossings, I can’t even imagine how it would be to live so close to such a sound abuse in the name of safety.
