A group of concerned Highland Park residents concerned with the cities use of public funds to purchase residential real estate for the expansion of the Central Business.  We are strongly opposed to making a quaint library into a large multipurpose city gathering place that likely won’t be able to accommodate the traffic and parking needs of the centers they’re considering to build. It is also far from clear that these new buildings are addressing true city needs. But the plan presented by the city contemplates a massive extension of public buildings into an historic residential district that would forever alter its character and, likely, its value.
