We the undersigned parties of the 21 municipalities that the Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter services, ask the town council of the Borough of Helmetta to publically ask for the resignation of Mayor Nancy Martin, Mayor of the Borough of Helmetta.

Mayor Martin, during her tenure as Mayor of Helmetta, has used the office of Mayor to exploit her political power, to appoint family members and friends to employment positions within the Borough, has, without cause, forced the police department to write tickets to all out of town residents for speeding infractions, while at the same time, allowing those within her own community to break speeding laws.  She has forced the resignation of three Police Officers, 2 of them the Police Directors, and one of them a homosexual cop, who was intimidated and bullied on the job, after Mayor Martin "outted" him.  All three officers have current lawsuits pending against the Borough of Helmetta.  

While in office Mayor Martin has appointed her son, Brandon Metz, to the following paid positions:  Head Animal Control Officer, Animal Cruelty Investigator, Recycling Coordinator, Water Meter Reader, Animal Shelter Labor, Borough Labor, as well as had paid him and others for "filling" in for such things as the children’s Halloween Party, and Borough Administrator while the position was vacant.

Mayor Martin has also expanded her sons pay by charging the surrounding 21 municipalities for each call her son Brandon is sent on after 3 pm in the afternoon and before 8 am in the morning.  He is also paid $12.50 per hour to "clean" the runs at the Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter, which, according to their own Borough minutes, is detailed as one of his responsibilities within his job description as Head Animal Control Officer for the Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter.

When Mayor Martin could not "get her way" with stopping individuals from photographing the atrocities at the Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter, she had the Borough Lawyer, David A. Clark, draw up an ordinance banning the use of video and photographing within public buildings from within the town of Helmetta, in direct violation and with flagrant disregard for the 1st Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, that same Constitution that see took an oath to uphold as the Mayor of the Borough of Helmetta.

Mayor Martin has also threatened to use the police force within her town to locate and prosecute those that are against her on the Reform Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter Group, as well as allowing her son to solicit for her, while he was working as a meter reader, when Mayor Martin was running for office.

Mayor Martin has also slandered and libeled those involved in the "reform" movement, by putting out false allegations of corruption, harassment, and intimidation, while all the same time using those same tactics to force her police department and police officers to viciously attack the credibility of those involved in the reform of the shelter.  

It is because of the above allegations, the obvious neglect of the animals at the shelter, along with the nepotism and corruption within the Borough of Helmetta that we the people of the 21 Municipalities call for the immediate resignation of Helmetta Mayor Nancy Martin.
