Data shows that these eight use-of-force policies can reduce police violence by 72%. Boston already has four, but can and should be better. We need all eight. 

Here are the eight and Boston's current stance:

1. Ban Chokeholds & Strangleholds *YES
2. Require de-escalation
3. Require warning before shooting
4. Exhaust all other means before shooting *YES
5. Duty to intervene
6. Ban shooting at moving vehicles *YES
7. Require use of force continuum *YES
8. Require comprehensive reporting
